What happens here
Medical detox and residential treatment under one roof, in a private house in Tarzana. Admissions answers day and night.
Where it starts
What medical detox is, and what it isn’t
Medical detox, also called medically supervised withdrawal, is care for the body while it clears a substance it has come to depend on. It has three parts, an evaluation, stabilization, and getting ready for treatment.
Detox is the first stage, not the cure. On its own it does little to change long-term use, which is why detox here is planned as the start of residential treatment.
The house
One private house on Wilbur Avenue
Medical detox when someone is physically dependent, then residential treatment in the same house.
The great room, the marble dining tables, the bedrooms in charcoal linens, the wellness room with its living green wall and the covered gazebo in the garden are shared by a small household.
Dual diagnosis care
Dual diagnosis treatment at Lumora Recovery addresses mental health conditions that occur alongside substance use, within residential substance use treatment in our private house in Tarzana. The two are assessed and treated together, not one after the other.
Aftercare planning
Aftercare planning at Lumora Recovery is part of the stay, so the next step takes shape while the person is still in the house. The plan points to the right level of continuing care, such as PHP, IOP, outpatient care or sober living, with providers near where they will live.
